Getting started

Teras is your community's app. You use it to let visitors through the gate, keep track of who lives in your house, register your vehicles, and pay your community bills.

Signing in

There is no password. Your WhatsApp number is your identity, so sign in from the number your community admin registered for your household.

On your phone. Send /login to your community's Teras number. The bot replies with a sign-in link — tap it, and you're in. The sign-in page at teras.app gets you to the same place: enter your number, then tap Open WhatsApp.

On a computer. Open teras.app, enter your phone number, and scan the QR code with your phone's camera. WhatsApp opens with a pairing message ready; send it, and the browser signs itself in. If you use WhatsApp Desktop, click the link under the QR code instead of scanning it.

The sign-in link only works once and only for you. If you lose it, just send /login again.

If the bot tells you that you aren't registered, see When something goes wrong.

Your home screen

After signing in you land on a grid of tiles:

Tile What it's for
Passes Pre-register a visitor so the guard lets them in
Invitations One link for many guests — parties, open houses
Visitors Everyone who has arrived at your house
Tenants The people living in your household
Vehicles Your household's cars and motorcycles
Invoices Community bills, and paying them
Profile Your own name and email

Your house address shows under the welcome message. If it says nothing and the tiles are greyed out, you haven't been assigned to a house yet — contact your community admin.

You may not need the app at all

Most day-to-day things can be done by messaging your community's Teras number in plain language — checking who visited, paying a bill, getting a pass at the gate. See Using Teras on WhatsApp.

More than one community

If you belong to more than one community, tap the community name at the top right to switch. Everything on the screen — visitors, bills, vehicles — belongs to the community you're currently viewing.
